Antilobotomized

The exercise proposes projecting a school of interpretation in a residence for artists in the iconic palace of music by the architect Secundino Zuazo, inaugurated on Gran Vía in 1926. A street tha was planned as a cut in the pre-existing layout of the city of Madrid to provide the city of a grandiloquent street typical to give visibility to the capital, in the idea of the time. All the buildings that were erected wanted to impress the passerby, to give him the impression of being in a European capital such as London, Vienna or Paris. These desires polarized the projects in this direction, renouncing the relationship between the exterior and the interior of the building in order to have a majestic façade, becoming lobotomized buildings (Concep developed by Rem Koolhas Rem in his 1978 rehearsal: Delirious New York). This project aims to come clean and reverse this process, polarizing it in the other direction, until an antilobotomized building is achieved. This with a transparent envelope which allows to stablish a direct relation in between the use and the spaces from the Gran Vía and its surroundings.
